First of all let me give you a brief overview of the lesson before writing a reflection on integrating ICT in my teaching learning process. It was on 13th October, 2022, that I taught English in class IV. The topic that I taught was on direct speech and indirect speech. The lesson was taught in the class the previous day. But while coming to an activity, I took all the students in the IT lab and provided them a link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yML5gg26MUA) so, that students could carry out the activity online and check their answers online.
So, in this reflection I am going to share some of the advantages and disadvantages of carrying out the activities online that observed.
There are many advantages of giving an online activity. But as far as I am concerned the important positive aspects of carrying out online activity in teaching learning process are it consumes less time, since students were able to complete twenty questions in half an hour. More over at the end of the activity instead of me checking their answers students were able to see whether their answers were right or wrong online. I also observed that the use of online activities had motivated students to complete their assigned task. Since I have given the activity to carry out in groups it increased student’s participation in the discussion. Another advantage of carrying out online activity is getting immediate results from your students. Not only does the teacher gets the results, the students itself is also possible to get their results. This makes the teacher easier to identify the gaps in knowledge. The students were also able to see on what kind of section they have to improve themselves.
