Reflection for the Month of September, 2022

Objectives: At the end of the lesson the child will be able to:

·         Define all 6 types of pronouns.

·         Write two examples each.

Before writing a reflection on integrating ICT in my teaching learning process. Let me briefly describe about the subjects, class and topic that I taught. It was on 8^th, September 2022, that I taught English in class IV. The topic that I taught was on Types of Pronouns. The ICT tool that I used for teaching this lesson was “Video from Instructional Guide.”

  So, in this reflection I am going to share some of the pros and cons of teaching lesson through Video.

There are many pros of teaching my lesson through presentation. But as far as I am concerned the important positive aspects of use of video in teaching learning process are it consumes less time, since I was able to cover all the five types of pronouns within half an hour. It also helped me to maintain eye contact with the students, this is because to progress through a slide show I just needed to click a button which allowed me to maintain eye contact with my students and use my hands for emphasis.

The problems that I faced during my presentation was that students don’t listen to my explanation properly Moreover I was able to arouse the interest in students because my video was interesting.  Another advantage of video is that it is suitable for person like me because I am not very techno-friendly but then, using it was very simple and easy.  More over student’s attention was divided between listening and visualization. As a result, students were not able to understand the lesson. Another disadvantages of presentations that I observed was the message was only heard once at the pace of delivery set by me. Another difficulty that I faced was I was unable to prepare the presentation but then at the end I was able to prepare with support from my colleagues.

In general, though I faced some difficulties but at the end I think my lesson went well.
